Doug and Joyce Bender discovered a need by foundries for outsourced cores. In 1990 they formed Bender Foundry Service, opening in a 15,000 sq. ft. rented building with a single customer.
After three years, BFS moved to its current location at 1410 East SADC Avenue in Sigourney, Iowa — a 28,800 sq. ft. building that has since grown to a 69,928 sq. ft. facility. Today, BFS serves foundries as far north as Canada and as far south as Texas.
